Privacy Policy

Version 2026-09-13. How mycreatorfind collects, uses and protects personal information. Questions or requests: [email protected].

1. Who we are

mycreatorfind is based in St Kilda, Victoria, Australia, and operates www.mycreatorfind.com. We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles to the extent they apply to us, and we follow them regardless. This policy forms part of our Terms of use.

2. What we collect

Everyone: your email address, because it is how you log in, and the times you log in. Businesses: your name, business name, phone number, the suburb and postcode of the business, and optionally a street address, website and ABN — all typed in by you — plus the content of your listing. Creators: your name, suburb, the social accounts and follower counts you list, and what you tell us about the kind of work you do. Automatically: the IP address and browser of each request, which we keep in security and audit logs, and standard server logs. We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics cookies. We do not collect card numbers; Stripe does (section 6).

3. Why we collect it

To run the service: to show listings, to let creators unlock a business's contact details, to verify that a business's phone number and email work before its listing goes live, to bill creators, to send the emails the service needs (login codes, receipts, notices about your own account, and alerts you have asked for), to answer your questions, to keep the site secure, and to meet our legal obligations. We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

4. Disclosure of a business's contact details — the service itself

When a business posts a listing it consents, at that moment and against a recorded version of these terms, to its trading name, contact person, phone number, email address and any address it supplied being shown to creators who pay to unlock that listing. That is the whole product, and the business is told so in plain words before it agrees. Those details are shown only to a creator who has unlocked that specific listing. They are never shown to search engines, to other businesses, or to anyone merely browsing the board, and they are never sent in bulk. We record which creator unlocked which business and when. A business can switch its listing off at any time, which stops any further disclosure; creators who already unlocked it keep what they paid for, and our terms forbid them from passing it on.

5. What a business sees about a creator

A business whose listing you have unlocked sees your name, your handles and follower counts, and your suburb — so they know who is about to ring. They see your email address only if you have switched that on in your profile; it is off by default.

6. Who we share information with

Only the providers we need to run the service, each bound by its own privacy terms and used only for the purpose named: Stripe (payments — Stripe holds your card details and billing name; we hold a customer reference and your plan), Amazon Web Services in Sydney (sending email), Twilio (sending the SMS verification code to a business's phone), and DigitalOcean in Sydney (hosting and the database). Beyond that we disclose personal information only when the law requires it or to protect the rights or safety of a person. We do not otherwise send personal information overseas; our systems are in Australia, and where a provider processes data elsewhere it does so under its own safeguards.

7. How we keep it safe

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. There are no passwords to steal: sign-in is by a one-time code to your email. A business's contact details are stored separately from everything else and are released only through the one path that checks for a paid unlock; every administrator read of them is logged with a stated reason. Access to production systems is limited to the people who run the service.

8. How long we keep it

For as long as you have an account and for a reasonable period after it closes, so that we can answer questions, honour refunds and meet legal and tax obligations — generally no more than seven years for billing records. Audit and security logs are kept as long as we reasonably need them for those purposes. When you close your account we remove your listing from the board immediately and delete or de-identify your personal information once we no longer need it. Records of which creator unlocked which business are kept, because they are the basis on which a creator was charged.

9. Your choices and rights

You can see and change most of your information from your dashboard. You can ask us at [email protected] for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to close your account and delete it, and we will respond within 30 days. Alert emails can be turned off from your dashboard; login codes and account notices can't, because the service can't work without them.

10. Cookies

We use one cookie: the one that keeps you logged in. It is not used for tracking or advertising, and it is not shared with anyone. Some browser storage on your own device remembers small conveniences, such as a draft listing while you sign up.

11. Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, write to [email protected] and we will investigate and reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

12. Changes

When this policy changes we update the version above and, for changes that matter, tell you by email or on the site.
